21 killed, 25 killed in Mujahideen attacks in country’s north

BALKH, Aug. 17 – At least 8 enemy soldiers have been killed and 6 more wounded with 2 tanks destroyed in a series of Mujahideen attacks over the past 24 hours in Chamtal district of northern Balkh province.

On Friday, 2 enemy soldiers were killed and 3 more were wounded with a tank destroyed after Mujahideen ambushed the enemy supply convoy in Dawlat Abad district of Balkh province.

Late Friday, Mujahideen targed an army base and set off firefight with the enemy in which 2 enemy soldiers were killed in Sholgara district of Balkh province.

In a report from northern Balkh province, an enemy soldier was killed in an ambush attack in Khas Balkh district of northern Balkh province on Friday, while a vehicle carrying Arbakis was also destroyed in an attack by Mujahideen elsewhere in the said district later yesterday.

In another report from Balkh, a policeman was killed and 4 more were wounded when Mujahideen engaged the enemy on a joint operation in Zaray district of northern Balkh province.

A total 8 enemy soldiers have been killed and 11 more wounded in northern Badakhshan province, bring the dead toll to 21 and wounded to 25 since yesterday in country’s north.
