UNAMA report about torture of prisoners is biased and untrue

UNAMA report about torture of prisoners is biased and untrue

Today a statement was published from the UNAMA office in Kabul asserting that Mujahideen of Islamic Emirate torture prisoners and treat them appallingly.

We consider this biased report by UNAMA as self-interested and baseless.

Instead of fulfilling their responsibility by highlighting the dire conditions in Kabul and American prisons, UNAMA is trying to prepare raw propaganda material against the Islamic Emirate based on false information.

The martyrdom and injuries of numerous detainees in Pul-e-Charkhi prison due to use of live fire by Kabul administration in the current month, frequent reports of ill-treatment of prisoners in Bagram and the torture and cruelty behavior towards prisoners in the secret cells of Kabul intelligence apparatus have all been ignored, yet a faulty report was prepared based on the statements of a few prisoners released from a prison in Uruzgan and extracted by Kabul administration officials for propaganda purposes.

The whole nation and the media are witnesses that enemy soldiers, police and other workers have repeatedly been freed from the prisons of Islamic Emirate, given travel money and sent homes honorably.

Last month more than a 100 detainees were released in Bala Marghab district of Badghis province, the video report of which was published and none displayed any signs of torture or violence.

The UNAMA report has turned a blind eye to such activities of Islamic Emirate and effort was made to conduct a propaganda campaign against the Islamic Emirate by covering up the daily crimes of the American invaders and Kabul administration.

We categorically reject this self-interested report by UNAMA and turn the focus of UNAMA officials in Kabul towards their original responsibility regarding the killing, imprisonment and bombardment of innocent Afghans instead of propaganda.
